What is in the Fast & Furious Mix 1 set of 2027
Five cars, all of them premium castings rather than mainline:
- 1999 Toyota MR-S — Silver, wheels
RR5SPM, toy numberJRN88 - 1987 Buick Regal GNX — Black, wheels
RRSPLIT6, toy numberJRN94 - Toyota Chaser JZX100 — Yellow, wheels
RR10SPM, toy numberJRN98 - Honda S2000 — Pink, wheels
MCRR, toy numberJRN99 - Toyota FJ Cruiser — Matte Black, wheels
ORRR8DOT, toy numberJRP00
It is the first Mix 1 of the 2027 line, and it is one of seven series that make up that line so far — 31 models in total, alongside two Car Culture sets, Boulevard, the 59th Anniversary cars and a Car Culture 2-Pack.
Three of the five wheel codes are almost unused
This is the part of the set that is not visible from the outside of the box.
Of the five wheel codes in the set, three appear on fewer than a dozen models
in the entire catalogue of 63,153: MCRR on two, RRSPLIT6 on six and
ORRR8DOT on ten. The other two are common — RR5SPM is used by 64 models and
RR10SPM by 80 — which makes the Buick, the FJ Cruiser and above all the Honda
the interesting three.
The MCRR case is the one worth knowing. In a catalogue of 63,153 models the code
appears twice: on the Honda S2000 of this set, and on a 2007 Scorchin’
Scooter from the Holiday Rods line. Eighteen years apart, two cars, and one of
them is a toy scooter. Whatever else is true of this set, its Honda S2000 sits on
a wheel that almost nothing else in the catalogue has ever used.
The Toyota FJ Cruiser carries over from 2026
One of the five is not new. The Toyota FJ Cruiser was in the 2026 Mix 1 as
well, and in the catalogue the two records are identical where it matters: same
Matte Black colour, same ORRR8DOT wheels, same position as the fifth car in the
set. Only the toy number changed, from JHW69 to JRP00.
That is worth knowing before you buy: if you already have the 2026 set, one of the five cars in the 2027 set is a car you own. The other four — the MR-S, the Regal GNX, the Chaser and the S2000 — are new to a Mix 1.
Mix 1 has been a five-car set every year since 2023
The line is consistent, which makes it easy to budget for: five cars in 2023, five in 2024, five in 2025, five in 2026 and five in 2027.
The 2025 set is the only one that looks different in the data, and it is a catalogue artefact rather than a bigger set: it holds two castings of the same model name, the 2003 Dodge Viper SRT10, so it counts six rows and five distinct models.
Where the 2027 line stands
The 2027 model year is barely started: 31 models in seven series, against roughly 2,500 for a full year. The Fast & Furious Mix 1 is the fourth-largest of those seven series, behind Car Culture - Exotic Envy and Car Culture - Mountain Drifters at six cars each.
That means the 2027 line is at the point where the first sets appear and the rest of the year is still unknown. If the line follows its own pattern, Mix 2, Mix 3 and Mix 4 will follow, and at least one of them will carry another cast-over or a casting that has not appeared in the line before.
What to check when you find one
- The toy number, on the back of the card:
JRN88toJRP00is this set. If you seeJHW69on an FJ Cruiser, you are holding the 2026 car. - The wheels, because three of the five codes are the rarest part of the set
and they are the thing a photograph of the box will not tell you.
MCRRon the Honda S2000 is the one to look at. - The set number, one to five: this set numbers its cars
1to5, so the position of each car is part of its identity.
You can look up any of the five on its model page — the 1999 Toyota MR-S, the Honda S2000 and the Toyota FJ Cruiser are the three worth opening first, because they carry the rarest wheels and the repeat car. Every model page shows the full specification, and the catalogue index has the models collectors look up most.
